Indexly is a free, human-maintained index of the web — right now 795 websites sorted by people into 22 topic categories. It runs on the old, sensible idea behind the first web directories: real editors file sites under the right heading instead of letting a black-box ranking decide what you see. The result is something you can browse and skim, not just search.
How we review submissions
A person looks at every site before it goes live. We confirm the site loads, is genuine, and sits in a sensible category, and we lift a short summary straight from the page so the entry honestly describes what is on offer. Malware, deceptive pages, and empty doorway sites are turned away.
Outbound links carry rel="nofollow" — Indexly is an index, not a place to buy ranking signals. We curate by hand precisely so the listing stays readable instead of decaying into spam.
Always free
Getting listed costs nothing. There is no premium plan, no "priority review" charge, and nothing to upsell. The index grows because real owners file real sites — that is the whole model.
Who maintains it
